Hey Mylene,

Glad you were able to connect. Praying the Lord continues to encourage you as I know he will. He's working in our lives in more ways than we can imagine.

In reply to <a href="https://theorphancarpenter.com/the-strength-of-the-strand/#comment-5">Marta Heyde</a>.

Your wife just asked me to be her friend on Facebook. We went to school together as kids in the Philippines. I told her how I remember her being popular and her faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. I just shared some personal information with her. I told her that God is so amazing and continues to provide for my needs (specially my spiritual needs). Little did I know, that you will be an encouragement to me. I plan to order your book. Keep it up, my faithful brother in Christ. God bless you!

Just be Christ-like. What? Hey, it's not my fault. Peopled mistreated me and I have to forgive and forget? Or give my other cheek. It's hard to be Christ-like. Really. Forgiving others who caused you pain? But then I thought to myself, If the Lord Jesus Christ gave himself for me to die on the cross in my stead and to save me from eternal damnation, who am I then not to forgive those people who trespass on me? I've been bought and redeemed. My life no longer leaks, and I'm like a new creation! Ready to forgive and to forget those trespasses by others.

Grace, grace. Amazing grace. Christianity is the only religion that teaches grace. It does not matter one bit what I have done. It only matters what Jesus has done.

This reminds me of Jesus’ parable about the wise and foolish builders. He tells us to build our house on the rock, to put his words into practice... the storms (and earthquakes) will come but if our foundation is solid, we’ll get through the storms of life. As I am not an expert on building, I can just imagine how much more planning, time, energy, right tools, etc to build on the rock but if we ‘invest’ on doing it correctly, it is so worth it at the end...
